De richtlijn verplicht bedrijven om hun duurzaamheidsprestaties te rapporten aan de hand van de European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). Het doel is om stakeholders &#8211; investeerders, toezichthouders en het publiek &#8211; een duidelijker beeld te geven van de sociale en milieu-impact van een bedrijf en hoe dit het businessmodel raakt.<\/p>\n<p>Oorspronkelijk was de richtlijn van toepassing op een grotere groep bedrijven. Recente aanpassingen in het kader van de Omnibus Richtlijn gaan waarschijnlijk leiden tot een vermindering van het aantal bedrijven dat moet rapporteren.
