Ze moeten bijvoorbeeld vaststellen of hun \u2018grondstoffen\u2019 afvalstoffen zijn in de zin van de EU-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecomatters.nl\/nl\/services\/wetgeving\/kaderrichtlijn-afvalstoffen\/\">Kaderrichtlijn afvalstoffen<\/a> (KRW) of mogelijk reststoffen, mengsels of producten zijn in de zin van REACH. Regelgeving zoals <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecomatters.nl\/nl\/services\/wetgeving\/reach\/\">REACH<\/a> helpt bij de gevarenbeoordeling, risicobeheer en het verstrekken van geschikte veiligheidsinformatie over op de Europese markt verkrijgbare chemicali\u00ebn. Het is van cruciaal belang om aan deze voorschriften te voldoen om een veilig gebruik van chemicali\u00ebn voor mens en milieu te garanderen.<\/p>\n<p>Gedreven door de noodzaak om het gebruik van grondstoffen en afval te verminderen, is de belangstelling voor hergebruik en recycling van producten bovendien zeer snel toegenomen. En de steeds slechtere reputatie van plastic voor eenmalig gebruik dwingt fabrikanten om meer gerecyclede of biobased alternatieven te overwegen.<\/p>\n<p>Bioplastics hebben een groot potentieel als het gaat om vermindering van de uitstoot van broeikasgassen. Maar niet al deze alternatieven zullen een gunstig effect hebben op de natuurlijke omgeving en ze garanderen niet noodzakelijkerwijs de voedselveiligheid.
