De belangrijkste internationaal erkende standaarden voor het rapporteren van aan klimaatverandering gerelateerde impacten zijn onder andere het Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, het Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) en het Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). Het GHG-protocol is een wereldwijd erkende organisatie die kaders ontwikkelt voor de meting en het beheer van broeikasgassen in de publieke en private sector. Standaarden die zijn ontwikkeld door het Greenhouse Gas Protocol dienen als een gemeenschappelijke basis voor veel rapportagesystemen en certificeringsprogramma\u2019s.   <\/p>\n<p>Het GHG-protocol biedt standaarden op verschillende organisatieniveaus, waarvan de meest gebruikte zijn:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Corporate Standard: <\/strong>De GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard stelt eisen en richtlijnen voor bedrijven en andere organisaties, zoals ngo\u2019s, overheidsinstanties en universiteiten, die een inventaris van broeikasgasemissies op bedrijfsniveau opstellen.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Product Standard:<\/strong> de productstandaard kan worden gebruikt om inzicht te krijgen in de emissies van een product gedurende de volledige levenscyclus en om de inspanningen te richten op de grootste mogelijkheden om de uitstoot van broeikasgassen te verminderen. Dit is de eerste stap naar duurzamere producten. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Corporate value chain (scope 3) standard:<\/strong> De standaard voor de bedrijfswaardeketen (scope 3) stelt bedrijven in staat om de impact van hun gehele waardeketen op de emissies te beoordelen en vast te stellen waar ze zicht moeten richten op reductieactiviteiten.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Project Protocol: <\/strong>het GHG-protocol voor projectboekhouding is de meest uitgebreide, beleidsneutrale boekhoudtool voor het kwantificeren van de broeikasgasvoordelen van klimaatmitigatieprojecten.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n[\/vc_column_text]<div class=\"vcex-spacing wpex-w-100 wpex-clear\"><\/div><style>.vcex-heading.vcex_69e88fe511d14{font-weight:700;}<\/style><h2 class=\"vcex-heading vcex-heading-plain vcex-module wpex-heading wpex-text-2xl vcex_69e88fe511d14\"><span class=\"vcex-heading-inner wpex-inline-block\">Scope 1, 2 &amp; 3 rapportage<\/span><\/h2><div class=\"vcex-spacing wpex-w-100 wpex-clear\" style=\"height:10px;\"><\/div>[vc_column_text]Emissies ontstaan door allerlei activiteiten: van energieverbruik en ontbossing tot afvalbeheer en ingekochte diensten. De uitstoot van broeikasgassen (GHG) wordt meestal onderverdeeld in drie categorie\u00ebn: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scope 1 \u2013 Directe emissies: deze komen rechtstreeks voort uit een activiteit of handeling zoals het verbranden van brandstoffen in een auto, ketel of fornuis.<\/li>\n<li>Scope 2 \u2013 Indirecte brandstofemissies: deze worden uitgestoten in de processen die energieleveranciers uitvoeren om de verbruikte energie te produceren. Een voorbeeld hiervan is het verbranden van kolen of gas om elektriciteit op te wekken. <\/li>\n<li>Scope 3 \u2013 Overige indirecte emissies: dit zijn emissies die optreden in de upstream- of downstreamprocessen van een toeleveringsketen. Dit kan bijvoorbeeld de winning van grondstoffen, voedselproductie, transport (los van de directe uitstoter) of afvalverwerking zijn. Het GHG-protocol vereist geen rapportage over alle categorie\u00ebn, maar het berekenen van de emissies voor de meest prominente categorie\u00ebn binnen de bedrijfsvoering is essentieel om een realistisch beeld te krijgen van de CO2-voetafdruk van de organisatie.<\/p>\n<p>Het verschil tussen deze verschillende ge\u00efntegreerde activiteiten is soms onduidelijk. Daarom is het erg belangrijk om nauwkeurig te zijn in de categorie\u00ebn en wat erin moet worden opgenomen, bijvoorbeeld de focus op cradle-to-gate of cradle-to-grave emissies. Daarom zijn er standaarden ontwikkeld om bedrijven, autoriteiten en zelfs individuen te helpen bij het nauwkeurig boekhouden van broeikasgassen (GHG).
