Serena Cunsolo

Serena Cunsolo is a sustainability consultant with an interdisciplinary background in environmental science and engineering. She graduated with an MSc in Marine Biology at the University of Bologna (Italy) and a Master’s thesis in Aquatic Microbiology at the University of Amsterdam.

Over the years, she has worked on various projects ranging from environmental conservation to food waste in Italy, the Netherlands and Slovenia. Before joining Ecomatters, she worked in a non-profit organisation to research plastic pollution in aquatic ecosystems.

Afterwards, she moved to the UK where she completed a PhD in Environmental Engineering. Because of her passion for sustainability, she became interested in transferring her skills and acquired knowledge to the sustainability sector with the goal to support sustainable development and contribute to the transition towards a low-carbon economy.
