On June 4, Ecomatters colleagues and TU Delft alumni Maria Papavasileiou and Gudo Wisselo attended the Green Career Fair, organised by Students4Sustainability at the TU Delft campus. This event gives students the opportunity to connect with businesses working in sustainability and discover how to build a career in a sector dedicated to creating a better future.
Here is what Gudo had to say about the day:
It was great to be back in Delft for the Green Career Fair after so many years, and the visit certainly brought back some nostalgic memories. It was also inspiring to meet so many students and to see a new generation eager to contribute to a more sustainable future.
By far, the question we were asked most frequently was, “What does Ecomatters do?” This was especially relevant since we were the only consultancy firm among predominantly engineering companies. I enjoyed sharing insights into the work we do, explaining what a career in consultancy can look like, and discussing the real-world sustainability challenges our clients face.
It was great to engage with students interested in our work, some of whom had heard of Ecomatters before. We were especially pleased to hear encouraging comments such as “Keep up the good work.”
We also had the opportunity to speak with several Industrial Ecology students from the same Master’s programme that Maria and I graduated from. It was interesting to hear how the programme has evolved over the years.
It was a busy and successful afternoon, filled with many interesting conversations. We hope we were able to give students a good impression of what our work involves and inspire some of them to pursue a career in sustainability consulting.
