During the MRPI Congress 2025, AkzoNobel received a certificate recognising the publication of the 1,000th MRPI-EPD. The EPD was developed by Brienne Wiersema who has been working as a consultant with Ecomatters for 5 years. The certificate marks a meaningful moment in our long-standing collaboration with AkzoNobel. It was also great to get together and celebrate this achievement with our partners Eco-Intelligence and Stichting MRPI.
Collaboration with AkzoNobel
For many years we have been supporting AkzoNobel with developing EPDs for their products. Developing this EPD, recognised as the 1,000th published on MRPI, is another step in helping to create transparency on the environmental impact of many of AkzoNobel’s brands, such as Dulux, Armstead, Sikkens and International Paint.
“At AkzoNobel we create transparency on the environmental impact of our products via environmental product declarations (EPDs) for our customers in the built environment and help them lowering this impact. We enjoy since many years working with the service-minded and expert team of Ecomatters who supports us in this approach.”
Job Coenen, Senior Program Manager Sustainability AkzoNobel
How we support clients
At Ecomatters, we guide organisations through every stage of creating an Environmental Product Declaration. This includes data collection, LCA modelling, documentation creation and providing support during the third-party verification process. Our focus is on making the process efficient and tailored to our clients’ needs, enabling them to publish EPDs that provide transparent insight into their products’ environmental footprint.
We are pleased to celebrate this milestone together with AkzoNobel and the MRPI team, and we look forward to supporting many more organisations with their LCA and EPD ambitions.
